Outdoor installation commissioned for the exhibition “Art en plein air” in Môtiers, Switzerland, June 20 – September 20 2015.

The picture shows Swedish missionary Karl Edvard Laman demonstrating a phonograph to an assembly of Congolese people in 1910. It is presented here with a link to a recording documenting a discussion initiated by Gilles Aubry with members of the University Center of Missiology in Kinshasa in 2011.
The work is a new installative version of “The Laman Encounter”, a publication from 2011 by Gilles Aubry.
